Turning Torso
The title of this weblog is derived from a contemporary building project at the Västra Hamn (West Harbour) in Malmö. Based on a scultpture by Santiago Calatrava "Turning Torso" consists of 9 twisting cubes. Since the initial launch the building has reached a height of 166m. At completition in 2005, the tower will be 190m high, offering space for 54 floors with more than 150 apartments.
As the "Turning Torso" has become a symbol of the dynamic developement in the highly populated area of Köpenhamn-Malmö, this weblog attempts to report about the plunge into the cold, dark waters of the north and how lifestyle, media and postmodernism relate to each other close to the sea.
A further concern will be to gain and provide information such as usefull transportation, fine dining and shopping hints and impressions in image and word for all who feel attracted to the young and multicultural city of Malmö.
